Hi, I’m Rebecca Missimer PT, DPT, NCS

I am a physical therapist with 13 years of extensive experience with adult and pediatric patients with complex neurologic and medical conditions. I have worked as a therapist and supervisor at the largest hospitals in NYC as well as at an out-patient clinic in CT. I am excited to take this experience and knowledge to help you on your journey to recovery at home.

My Experience

I have worked with patients with varying acuities in every hospital department in two of the biggest hospitals in New York City. This includes adult and pediatric patients in general medicine, surgery, neurology, cardiology, oncology, plastics, and ENT. My main focus was early mobility in the ICU setting which means helping people regain movement and strength while undergoing multiple medical interventions such as mechanical ventilation (intubated or trach), ECMO, CRRT, LVAD/RVAD, IABP, total artificial heart, EVD, and more.

After having my first daughter I began working at an out-patient practice in Westport, CT where I continued treating patients with neurologic and other complex needs.

Through these experiences I have seen a gap in physical therapy care after patients are discharged from the hospital or rehab center. I am excited to be able to use my knowledge to help clients continue their journey to health and strength in their own homes.
